Frequently Asked Questions

RAND is conducting a survey of National Guard Youth ChalleNGe program graduates as part of a study to understand how the program may influence participants’ education, employment, and life skills. We will provide a summary of aggregated results for ChalleNGe program leaders that they can use to help make improvements to the ChalleNGe program overall. No individual or identifiable results will be shared.

The study is led by RAND, a nonprofit research organization, in collaboration with the National Guard Youth ChalleNGe program. The research is funded by the Office of the Secretary of Defense. Westat, an independent research organization, is carrying out the survey. More information about RAND’s research on the ChalleNGe program is available here.

There is a minimal risk that questions about past education, employment, or other experiences could upset you or make you feel sad. You are free to stop taking the survey at any time. While there is no direct benefit of participation, you will be helping ChalleNGe leaders learn about how the program may influence participants over time and make improvements to the program.

We have strong safeguards to protect your privacy. We will keep any information that identifies you separate from your survey responses.
